There may be times due to seasonal or business reasons that you may need to store your LRS equipment for an extended period of time. When the pagers need to be stored, the best thing to do is to put them to Sleep.
*** You must have a TX-7470 or TX-7471 transmitter to be able to put pagers to sleep ***
This is a preferred function of the New RX-CS8 and CS8-Pro type pagers - Released in September of 2023.
Other pager types: This can be applied to all other types of pagers, however long term results will vary because the sleep command will not disconnect the battery and truly allow the pager to remain dormant for over 6 to 10 months.
The Sleep Command will work for any type of LRS pager. (Meaning they can all be turned off)
How To Guide: Putting pagers to Sleep
1st) they must be charged and ready for use. The reason is so they are alive and can accept the programming command.
When ready to put them to sleep (all or some at a time), just take them off the charger and have them sitting on a Non-Metal surface. Just putting them on a rug or a wooden table would be best.
Coaster pagers (CS6, CS7 and CS8 pagers) can be all stacked up - just do not have them on a charger.
On the transmitter
Press the Setup button, and type in 31337
Press 2 for Diagnostics
Press the F2 button 2 times
Press 1 for LRS Internal
Press 2 for "Sleep"
The screen will sit on Sleep for a few seconds
The pagers will respond by turning off. So you will no longer see their pager numbers or heartbeat lights.
At this point all the pagers that heard the Sleep command should be off.
Finishing
Press the F4 button about 4 times to exit from the menu on the transmitter.
You can pull the power out of the transmitter if you are wanting to pack that away as well.

Turning the pagers back on /waking them up
When you want to use the pagers again, just put them back on the charger, in stacks of 15 per charger base, and give them a good 10 minutes to ensure you are starting to see their charging lights.
Then you will know the pagers will be working again after charging them overnight for use the next day.
