Reprogramming LRS STAFF Pagers

When programming pagers, it is always important to have all pagers at the location on or in their charging base(s) so that you can remove one pager at a time to program.

 

Reprograming LRS Staff Pagers with the Freedom Guest Paging Transmitter (Model: TX-7400A, TX-7460, or TX-7470):

  1. Place all pagers to be reprogrammed on or in one charging base, leaving a second base empty if you have two or more bases to use.
  2. On the transmitter keypad, press SETUP and enter Password 56789.
  1. Press F2 (DN).
  2. Press 1 (1: Program).
  3. Press 1 (1: Prg Pager).
  4. Press 1 (2: Staff Pagers).
  5. Choose (1: Star Pager or 2: LRS Alpha).
  6. If Star Pager is chosen and the pager should vibrate, press F1 for Yes otherwise, press F4 for No. If LRS Alpha, the transmitter will skip this step and go to step 9.
  7. Enter the pager number for this pager.
  8. Remove the pager to be programmed from the charger.
  9. When the pager is done flashing and / or vibrating, press ENTER.
  10. The pager will give a slow revving vibration and glow to indicate it is has been programmed. On pager models with the LED number display, the new number will now be shown.
  11. The transmitter will ask you whether the pager beeped or vibrated and if yes, press F1 for Yes. (If No, press F4 and you will be prompted to retry the reprogramming sequence).
  12. Place the reprogrammed pager on the second charging base or on the very bottom of the first charging base.
  13. The transmitter will then ask if you would like to program another pager.
  14. If you would like to program another pager, press F1 for Yes, if you are done, press F4 to complete the process.
  15. If you chose Yes to program another pager, the transmitter will take you back to step 10 to enter the number that the next pager will be programmed as.
  16. When you are finished programming all pagers intended, remove the newly reprogrammed pagers from the charging base and page each one to test that they are the correct number and receive a page.
  17. Reprogram any that do not page.

  

Reprogramming with the TX-7500, TX-7501, TX-7501A, TX-7502, or TX-7503

  1. Place all pagers to be reprogrammed on or in one charging base, leaving a second base empty if you have two or more bases to use.
  2. Remove the pager from the charging base.
  3. Allow the pager to complete the vibration and flashing sequence.
  4. Press Setup.
  5. Enter access code, 56789.
  6. Select SYSTEM TOOLS.
  7. Select PROGRAM PAGERS.
  8. Select Pager Star or Alphanumeric Pager type (for any LRS Staff Pager).
  9. Select the type of programming and set as:
    - Pager IDs if programming individual pagers
  10. Select if the pager should vibrate when paged.
  11. Enter the individual Pager Number.
  12. Reset the Pager using the charger. Resetting the Pager means remove the pager from the charging base and allow it to “wake up” (vibrate and flash). When the pager finishes flashing/vibrating.
  13. The pager will give a slow revving vibration and glow to indicate it is has been programmed. On pager models with the LED number display, the new number will now be shown.
  14. The transmitter will ask you whether the pager beeped or vibrated. Choose Yes or No.
  15. Choose whether you would like to program another Pager and then click “Finish”. If you choose Yes and are programming another Pager, the transmitter will prompt for the next Pager number. If you choose No, you will exit the menu.

 

Reprogramming with the TX-9560EZ

  1. To ensure your LRS Transmitter is set to the correct mode of operation for your pagers:
    1. To turn on SP4 (Star Pager) Staff, press PROG-9-9-9-Enter
    2. To turn on Alphanumeric (POCSAG) Staff, press PROG-9-9-7-Enter
  2. To program an LRS SP4 Staff (Star) Pager:
    1. Have all the pagers in the charger to start – both working and nonworking – All pagers.

    2. Remove only the Pager that you want to reprogram from the charger.

    3. Allow the Pager to complete the vibration and flashing sequence. Once the vibration stops, you only have approximately a 10 second window to reprogram the pager.

    4. Press PROG, then press the number you want the pager to be and then the Enter Button (from 1-799) . (The 10 key = 0 when reprogramming for example: To program a pager as #20, press PROG-2-10-ENTER. For numbers without a zero, simply press the digits in order Example: for pager 21, press PROG-2-1-ENTER).
    5. The red LED in the top right corner of the transmitter will light up once.
    6. The pager will flash and / or vibrate to indicate it received the programming.
    7. Test the pager by entering the new pager number.
    8. Repeat steps 1-6 for additional pagers that you would like to program.
  3. To program an LRS Alpha Pager:
    1. Remove the battery from the pager and then re-insert the battery.
    2. Allow the Pager to complete the vibration sequence.
    3. Enter that Pager’s number (from 1-799) and press PROG. (Example: For Pager #20, press 2-0-PROG).
    4. The red LED in the top right corner of the transmitter will light up once.
    5. The pager will then beep three times to indicate that it received programming.
    6. Test the pager by entering the new pager number.
    7. Repeat steps 1-6 for additional pagers that you would like to program.

 

Reprogramming with the TX-9550LCMG

  1. To ensure your LRS Transmitter is set to LRS Staff Mode, press 9-1-7-PROG.
  2. Remove only the Pager that you want to reprogram from the charger.
  3. Allow the Pager to complete the vibration and flashing sequence.
  4. Enter that Pager’s number and press PROG. (Example: For Pager #23, press 2-3-PROG).
  5. The pager will flash and / or vibrate to indicate it received the programming.
  6. Test the pager by entering the new pager number and pressing Send.
  7. Repeat steps 2-6 for additional pagers that you would like to program.

 

Reprogramming with the TX-9550LCK

  1. Remove the pager from the charging base.
  2. Allow the pager to complete the vibration and flashing sequence.
  3. Press PROG then a number from 1-799 and then press PROG again (Example: For Pager #23, press PROG-2-3-PROG).
  1. The pager will flash and / or vibrate to indicate it received the programming.
  2. Test the pager by entering the new pager number and pressing Send.
  3. Repeat steps 1-5 for additional pagers that you would like to program.

 

Reprogramming with the TX-9601

  1. Remove the pager from the charging base:
    1. Rechargeable pagers are removed from the charger (or touched to the reset terminals on the transmitter. They stop vibrating when reset is complete.)
    2. Battery powered pagers reset when turned off and then back on (or remove and replace battery).
  2. Press PROG- # - ENT (# is the pager number 1 through 999).
  3. After the pager responds, page it to ensure it programmed okay:
    1. Star pagers will slowly vibrate and light up then dim to off.
    2. Alpha pagers will beep 4 times.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 for additional pagers you would like to program.

  

Reprograming with the TX-9100 or TX-9101

  1. Remove the pager from the charging base:
    1. Rechargeable pagers are removed from the charger (or touched to the reset terminals on the transmitter. They stop vibrating when reset is complete.)
    2. Battery powered pagers reset when turned off and then back on (or remove and replace battery).
  2. Press PROG- # - ENT (# is the pager number 1 through 99).
  3. After the pager responds, page it to ensure it programmed okay:
    1. Star pagers will slowly vibrate and light up then dim to off.
    2. Alpha pagers will beep 4 times.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 for additional pagers you would like to program.
