The single light appearing on the bottom of the Tracker can appear either as green, red, or half green/red, and behave in different manners. This is called the Status LED. Each of these colors have a specific meaning, along with how the lights behave, to help you decipher its status.
(when both the green and red lights are displayed, the light can appear to look “orange”)
The light’s color, behavior and meaning will differ depending on the firmware version applied to your Trackers. To find out what version your Trackers are, look within the Devices section within Table Tracker iPad application under the menu. Look for “Trackers,” and tap the arrow to see a list of your Trackers and the associated version.
For Trackers Version 31.9 and above, here is how the LED lights behave:
LED Light Behaviors While Trackers are on a charger:
- While charging, the Status LED will be red.
- When the Tracker is fully charged, the Status LED will glow green.
- The Tracker continually charges and discharges the battery slightly to properly maintain the battery and prevent overcharging; therefore, the LED light will go back and forth between Green and Red.
- The Tracker can display both the green and red light together with a slight blink when the Tracker is not charging and the battery is not connected.
- When a tracker is not working, and will not charge, it is most common that you will not see a Red or Green light on the tracker.
- Note: In troubleshooting, it is important to put the trackers on the charger one at a time so you will see a solid Red light showing on the tracker before putting the next one on top.
- Please check the charger and see the troubleshooting guide if you are not showing any lights on trackers when put on the charger.
LED Light Behaviors When Held over a Starter, Clearer, or Table Tag:
- The LED will briefly show a solid green light if the Tracker successfully sends a status message from a Starter, Clearer, or Table Tag (Tracker’s motor will also vibrate once after held over a Starter or Clearer; but not vibrate when over a table tag).
- The LED will only show Red if the Tracker cannot send an update after being held over a Starter, Clearer, or Table Tag. Red means it’s not reading or understanding the tag.
- The LED will show a Red, then a Green light (and Not Vibrate) if the tracker is not on the table tracker network. It means it will need to be associated to the system to read the starter or clearing dock. Note the Starter dock is used to associate the trackers. Touch the tracker down to the starter dock and take it away about 3 to 5 times at a slow steady rate to associate the tracker.
Previous Versions from the 31.9 Version, the Tracker LED status light will behave as follows:
While on Charge:
- While charging, the Status LED will be red.
- When the Tracker is fully charged, the Status LED will glow green.
- The Tracker will eventually discharge the battery slightly to prevent overcharging; LED will go back to red.
