Program Staff Pagers SP4 and E467 by Transmitter Type

How to Program Staff Pagers is determined by the type of transmitter you have. The guide on how to do this is below, under the various paging transmitter types.  Scroll down to the correct model and the instructions will walk you through it.

Note: When programming pagers, it is always important to have all pagers at the location on, or in their charging base(s) so that you can remove one pager at a time to program.

 

Reprogramming LRS Staff Pagers with the Freedom Transmitters

Models: TX-7400A, TX-7460, or TX-7470, TX-7471

1. Place all pagers to be reprogrammed on or in one charging base, leaving a second base empty if you have two or more bases to use.
2. On the transmitter keypad, press SETUP and enter Password 31337.

1. Press F2 (DN).
2. Press 1 (1: Program).
3. Press 1 (1: Prg Pager).
4. Press 1 (2: Staff Pagers).
5. Choose (1: Star Pager or 2: LRS Alpha).
6. If Star Pager is chosen and the pager should vibrate, press F1 for Yes otherwise, press F4 for No. If LRS Alpha, the transmitter will skip this step and go to step 9.
7. Enter the pager number for this pager.
8. Remove the pager to be programmed from the charger.
9. When the pager is done flashing and / or vibrating, press ENTER.
10. The pager will give a slow revving vibration and glow to indicate it is has been programmed. On pager models with the LED number display, the new number will now be shown.
11. The transmitter will ask you whether the pager beeped or vibrated and if yes, press F1 for Yes. (If No, press F4 and you will be prompted to retry the reprogramming sequence).
12. Place the reprogrammed pager on the second charging base or on the very bottom of the first charging base.
13. The transmitter will then ask if you would like to program another pager.
14. If you would like to program another pager, press F1 for Yes, if you are done, press F4 to complete the process.
15. If you chose Yes to program another pager, the transmitter will take you back to step 10 to enter the number that the next pager will be programmed as.
16. When you are finished programming all pagers intended, remove the newly reprogrammed pagers from the charging base and page each one to test that they are the correct number and receive a page.
17. Reprogram any that do not page.

  

Reprogramming with the TX-9560EZ and the TX-9561EZ

*First I want to mention that the 10 is the zero key in programming.

Have all the pagers on the charger to start – both working and nonworking – All pagers.

 

(charger must have power / must be plugged in, you want to see a solid red light on each pager sitting in the charger) If the charger is too far away from the system, bring the charger to the system and plug it in so it is sitting only about arms-length away. This is how far the pagers should be held from the transmitter during programming as well.

 

Programming steps - for single digit numbers

•Program one at a time.

•Once attempted, put the pager back on the charger before doing the next.

Take a pager out of the charger

Wait until the initial wake up stops.

Once the initial wake up stops, you only have about 10 seconds to type in the program sequence into the transmitter:

 

PROG, PROG, pager #, Enter -- So for example, if programming number 6. Pull out of charger, complete vibration, type in PROG, PROG, 6, ENT.

 

Programming 2 digit numbers: First I want to mention that the 10 is the zero key in programming

When programming a double digit pager number, always break those up into single digit entries. Remember to hold the pager away from the transmitter when programming. (at least 1 foot). And do not sit anything on a metal surface.

The 10 key is the 0 key when programming.

For example, programming pager 10

•Pull the pager from the charger, Allow the wakeup to stop (2 vibrations), then Type in PROG, PROG, 1, 0, ENT.

•The pager will respond with a long rev up and rev down vibration -> This is how you know it took the program

Then, when you page the 2 digit number, you can then hit the 10 or 2 digit number on the keypad to page that pager.

2nd Example: If programming pager #12, then the programming sequence is PROG PROG, 1, 2, Enter.

The pager will do a long revving vibration to show it took the program.

Test the pager when done by pressing the #12 key.

- Test the pagers to ensure they are working.

 

Reprogramming with the TX-9550LCMG

1. To ensure your LRS Transmitter is set to LRS Staff Mode, press 9-1-7-PROG.
2. Remove only the Pager that you want to reprogram from the charger.
3. Allow the Pager to complete the vibration and flashing sequence.
4. Enter that Pager’s number and press PROG. (Example: For Pager #23, press 2-3-PROG).
5. The pager will flash and / or vibrate to indicate it received the programming.
6. Test the pager by entering the new pager number and pressing Send.
7. Repeat steps 2-6 for additional pagers that you would like to program.

 

Reprogramming SP4 pagers with the TX-9550LCK

1. Have all the pagers in the charger to start.
2. Remove the pager from the charging base that needs to be reprogrammed.
3. Allow the pager to complete the vibration and flashing sequence.
4. Press PROG then a number from 1-799 and then press PROG again (Example: For Pager #23, press PROG-2-3-PROG).

4. The pager will flash and / or vibrate to indicate it received the programming.
5. Test the pager by entering the new pager number and pressing Send.
6. Put the completed pager back in the charger if programming more pagers.
7. Repeat steps 1-5 for additional pagers that you would like to program.

 

Reprogramming with the TX-9601

• Have all the pagers in the charger to start.
• Work on programming them 1 at a time.
• Once attempted, put the pager back on the charger before doing the next.

1. Take a pager out of the charger
2. Wait until the initial wake-up stops
3. once stopped, you have about 8 - 10 seconds to type in the program sequence on the transmitter:
4. PROG, pager #, PROG
5. The pager should show a long vibration to show you it is accepting the program. (Example: programming pager # 8, type in PROG, 8, PROG).

-- Programming 2 digit pager numbers

• For example, programming pager # 16, you must use single digit entries for programming on any 2 digit numbers.
• type the programming command sequence as PROG, 1, 6, PROG
• The #10 button will serve as the 0 button when programming.

  

Reprogramming Staff pagers with the T-9100 or T-9101

• Have all the pagers in the charger to start. 
• All the pagers  - you don't want to have one take a program it should not have. 
• If the transmitter is more than 10 steps away from the transmitter, move the charger to the same room as the transmitter and plug it in with all the pagers in it. 
• (Nonworking pagers can be left off the charger.)

Steps

1. Remove the pager you are going to reprogram from the charging base and let it wake up
   1. Rechargeable pagers are removed from the charger and they stop vibrating when reset is complete.)
   2. Keep the pager at least arm's length away from the transmitter and Please Do Not set the pager on a metal surface. Just hold it in your hand. 
2. Press PROG,  pager #, then press Enter (ENT).    [ # is the pager number you want the pager to be -- any number,  1 through 99).
3. If programming a 2 digit pager number, you must use single digit entries. (For example: if programming pager # 11, you would type in PROG, 1, 1, Enter)
4. After the pager responds, you can page it to ensure it programmed okay:
5. Star pagers will slowly vibrate and light up then dim to off.
6. If programming more pagers, put the one you did back in the charger so you can do it again, or grab the next one if needed. 
7. Repeat steps 1-3 for additional pagers you would like to program.
